In October 1955 the UFO fan Jane W. Moseley suggested in an article in the magazine Fate, that the people of Nazca "these large ground drawings as a signal to interplanetary visitors or an advanced soil culture created, which would occasionally visitreceived" .
There are now 89 km ² of the Pampa and the Palpa geoglyphs 1500 at the ETH Zurich in collaboration with the German Archaeological Institute (Bonn KAAK) measured photogrammetrically and 639 of them accurately described, classified andstudied by archaeologists. In 2005, approximately 50 other geoglyphs were systematically recorded for the first time, coveringan area of approximately 145 sq km. They should be between 600 BC and 100 BC have been formed. Today artifacts with aspecial remote-controlled model helicopter and the GPS accurately measured and investigated.
