The valley of the River Boyne in County Meath Ireland is little different from other beautiful areas of the country. The bright green meadows, interspersed with hills, neat stone walls, indicating ownership boundaries farmers. Among the pastoral images are easy to overlook some of the ancient tombs that seem deliberately hidden from prying eyes. One of them - Newgrange, megalithic building, erected about five thousand years ago. Once a year, the winter solstice, inside of this stone tomb of a ray of sunlight penetrates a few minutes highlighting its central hall. This "light show" - the result is incredibly precise astronomical and architectural calculations. The fact that the civilization of the Neolithic had this knowledge and for what uses them, scientists still argue.
