The mystery of the Nazca lines. Were they built by Aliens?

The Nazca lines, often written Nazca lines, giant geoglyphs (geoglyphs) in the desert near Nazca and Palpa in Peru. Named are the lines, the desert and the culture of lying close to the city of Nazca plain. The Nazca-level shows an area of 500 square km, straight, up to 20 km long lines, triangles and trapezium-shaped faces and figures with a size of tens to several hundreds of meters, such as images of humans, monkeys, birds and whales. Often the figure lines forming only a few centimeters deep.Due to the enormous size, they are only visible from a distance.
Based on archaeological comparisons of the images in the sticks with designs on pottery of the Nazca period was believed that the geoglyphs were created during the time of the Nazca culture, which is time to settle between 200 BC and 600 AD.Today we know that the oldest figures already roughly between 800 BC and 200 BC have been created in the time of the Paracas period.

Just because of their unknown origins different theories have been developed over these lines.
Only from a certain height, you can see the complete figures. Toribio Mejia Xesspe, who in 1927 dealt with the first scientific images, interpreted it as a "great artifacts of the Inca ceremonies," and indicated the lines as a religious and ceremonial roads.

After 1949 they became known worldwide through the work of the German Maria Reiche, who, she studied for the first time since 1941, the lines, tirelessly until her death in 1998 championed the protection and preservation of these figures and tried to desert their interpretation.
Many of the pieces have been destroyed by foot and car tracks. Only by the Peruvian government took the initiative Empire measures to prevent further destruction. At the instigation of Maria Reiche, the geoglyphs in 1994 by UNESCO as "lines and geoglyphs of Nasca and Pampas de Jumana" was declared a World Heritage Site. Empire original look to Paul Kosok, a specialist in ancient irrigation systems approach inspired a huge calendar recorded in the figures, is now divided only conditionally. Much is still unclear, however, is a blend of agriculturally, astronomical and religious significance of the lines adopted. There are clear correlations between the directions of some lines and solstice points. Of the animal figures, it is assumed that they served as ceremonial paths during ceremonies and sacrifices that were deposited on them.
